Right after Scott ran his half marathon we met our friends, the Heaslet's, and hiked Barbara Falls. (Scott got in a lot of miles this day, haha.) We hadn't done this hike for a few years so it was fun to check it out again. It was so pretty and the waterfall was amazing!

We had a nice long Memorial Day weekend! I had Saturday off so we decided to go hiking to Barbara Falls, and then we picked up some flowers for our yard at a greenhouse in Eagle River. (Next blog post.) It was a little chilly on the hike, but not too bad, and it wasn't raining! We've had a lot of rain this past week. The falls were beautiful, as always, and we went a different way, along the river, which led us to the bottom of the falls, rather than the top viewing area. It was kind of fun to get a different perspective of the falls. We invited our friends, the Laytons, to go on this hike with us, so that was fun to be with them too. Overall we had a great day!

Friday the 13th was a great day! Not unlucky at all, lol. We started out the day by hiking to Barbara Falls, a beautiful waterfall in Eagle River. It's so gorgeous, and a relatively short hike, too. The only tricky part is parking, as the unmarked trail head is pretty much in the middle of a neighborhood with private property signs everywhere. But our cars didn't get towed or anything so we're all good! After hiking, we went to a greenhouse in Eagle River to get some pretty flowers for our front yard. We've never really planted anything since moving here so it was really fun to do this! Let's hope we can keep them alive! And Mike and Kay were very nice to help us plant everything and get our yard looking great. :) (I need to take a picture of all our flowers planted!)
The greenhouse itself was amazing! It overlooked the gorgeous Chugach National Forest and had many beautiful plants. So fun! That evening Mike and Kay watched the girls and Scott and I had a date night! We met Andy and Ali in Anchorage (they were there just for a couple days for a political convention) for dinner. It was so fun to see them! (I forgot to take pics on our date night though. Oh well!) Yay for Friday the 13th!

Our latest Wednesday adventure (Wednesdays are Scott's day off) took us on a hike we've never been to before, Barbara Falls! It's in Eagle River, and the parking is a little tricky with Private Property signs everywhere, but the payoff was huge! This waterfall is beautiful! Enjoy the pics!
