Dec. '22

Friday, April 12, 2024

December was such a busy month, and there are several more pics I wanted to share, so I just put them all together in this post. Happy Holidays! 🎄

We had some friends over for dinner and games, and we also decorated sugar cookies. I love the grinch ones!

Scary Potter, 10/29/22

Friday, April 5, 2024

There is a home near us in Farmington that puts up an amazing display of Harry Potter creatures and characters every Halloween. My mom had told us about it, and we couldn't wait to check it out. All the figures are carved and handmade by a teen. She does an amazing job, and we loved walking through. They also served butter beer and gave a special chocolate snitch to anyone dressed in a Harry Potter costume. Everything was so fun and so cool!

Scott, Ruby, and Noelle were all Hogwarts students, I was Professor Trelawney, and Robyn was Crookshanks. So fun re-using some of the same costumes from our fun Harry Potter Halloween here.

Halloween Week, '22

Thursday, April 4, 2024

We had so many fun things and different activities going on the week before Halloween, I wanted to include them here. So much fun! Happy Halloween! 🎃

Walking over to the ward Halloween carnival. The sunset was 😍. Robyn was a witch, Noelle was a police officer, and Ruby was Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. (Robyn and Ruby switched it up later in the week, haha.)

I have several photos from my cell phone from October that are too cute not to share. We had such a fun Halloween season with beautiful weather, fun parties, and spooky treats, haha. Enjoy these fun pics! 🎃👻

These cool pumpkins are on display in the neighborhood, just down the street from us! It was so fun to see them! This was the Harry Potter section.

Harry Potter Party, 9/10/21

Tuesday, January 25, 2022

Just for fun, and because we are big Harry Potter fans, we decided to have a Harry Potter Party! We invited Ryan and Jill, and Chrissy (also all big fans, lol) and we were planning to have it on Hogwarts Day (September 1st, the day Hogwarts students start school, lol), but I think someone in Ryan's family was sick, so we postponed it for later in the month, and it was so fun! It ended up being a little crazy with the power going out for a good portion of the evening, but it kind of just added to the fun of the party, haha! We had some delicious Hogwarts food and played a few Harry Potter games. We might have to make it a yearly tradition, haha. Enjoy these fun pics!

A Yummy Hogwarts Feast!

Halloween Costumes, 10/18/20

Monday, October 19, 2020

We woke up to our first snow of the season yesterday morning! It was just a light dusting, but still kind of exciting! The girls wanted to go right out and play in it, and I was excited to take pictures in it, haha! (The white snow makes such pretty pics!) We decided to get the girls in their Halloween costumes and take their pictures. (I'll be working on Halloween and probably won't get home until dark so not sure if we'll get too many pics that day, haha.) It was a little chilly, so after taking a few pics they got all their snow gear on and played in it for a bit. It was fun!

For now Robyn is Anna and Noelle is Elsa from Frozen II. And Ruby is Hermione from Harry Potter. We have gone back and forth on several costume ideas, but for now this works, haha. (Not sure if Scott and I will dress up this year.) Happy (almost) Halloween! 🎃👻

*Edited to add: Now that Halloween is over I've added a few cell pics from actual Halloween at the bottom of this post. The girls kept these same costumes, except it was FREEZING! We had to bundle them up good! Scott took the girls to a trunk or treat at their school during the day (I was working, but they said it was super fun! They played math games out of teachers' trunks and got small toys instead of candy) and then we all went to a trunk or treat at our church that evening. So much fun!

The fresh snow was perfect for Elsa! ❄

Ruby's First Day of 2nd Grade, 8/15/19

Thursday, August 15, 2019
Ruby started second grade today! (Noelle will start preschool in a couple weeks.) I can't believe summer is already over! 😭 But we're still having really nice weather, and I'm sure we'll still be doing lots of fun stuff on the weekends and holidays.

A couple nights ago we went to the school and Ruby found out who her teacher is, and who else is in her class. She was hoping for Mrs. Marchini (she was her kindergarten teacher who moved to 2nd grade), but she got Mrs. Locker. She seems really nice too, and I'm sure she'll have a great year! She also knows a lot of kids in her class, so she's happy about that. She's such a good, happy, smart, sweet, kind, and patient little student. We're so happy that she loves school as much as she does. Best of luck this year Ruby! We love you!

Two fingers for 2nd grade!

Ruby's 7th Birthday, 6/6/19

Monday, July 1, 2019
Ruby is now seven years old! I can't believe it! She is such a sweetheart and we are so blessed to have her in our family. She is the best helper and big sister. I know I can always count on her for everything. She is such a hard little worker and so smart too. I'm so proud to be her mom. We love our Ruby so much!

It was fun to have Grandma and Grandpa here this year to celebrate with us! Ruby requested a cake with two of her favorite things: LEGOs and Harry Potter! It turned out so cute! Scott had to work during the day, but as soon as he got home we had a yummy pizza dinner, then Ruby went on a fun Harry Potter themed scavenger hunt to find her presents (she remembered we did that last year, and wanted to do it again, haha), then we sang "Happy Birthday" and had cake and ice cream. It was such a fun day celebrating Ruby!

Harry Potter Halloween, 10/29/18

Monday, November 19, 2018
While in California we had one of the best Halloween parties ever! Each year my mom throws a Halloween party for all my extended family and it's always a big hit. Since we were in Cali over Halloween we decided to have the party there, too. Because our little family was doing Harry Potter themed costumes, everyone else decided to too, and we made the whole party Harry Potter themed. Everyone's costumes were amazing, we had the most delicious food (complete with Harry Potter puns), and played some fun Halloween/Harry Potter games. My favorite game was being sorted into Houses. Scott was the voice of the Sorting Hat and when his dad put on the hat he said, "Hmm, interesting. Squib!" Chrissy and I were dying with laughter! (I think we were the only ones that got it, haha.) Enjoy these fun pics and Happy Halloween!

The cutest little Crookshanks I've ever seen!
