Our Life in Alaska and Beyond

I got off work a little early last Saturday so we decided to go up Hatcher Pass. It's been our favorite place this summer! So pretty! We had never hiked Gold Mint before, but had heard a lot about it so we decided to try it out. It was super kid friendly (relatively flat), but kind of boring too, and it ended up being not one of our favorites. It was mainly surrounded in brush, so it was hard to see the beautiful mountains around us. And it was also very hot! (to us at least, high 70s, lol) We ended up hiking a little over a mile, one way, then decided to turn around (Scott's allergies were really bad) and we headed up a little higher to Summit Lake. It was cooler a little higher up which felt nice, and there wasn't as much brush. Scott and the girls loved skipping rocks into the lake. It was a beautiful and fun day. :)
