Our Life in Alaska and Beyond

A few extras from April '24! Towards the end of April things just start getting green here, and it gets everyone so excited for warmer weather! Enjoy these *almost summer* pics! ☀️🌱

The girls and I hiked the Butte! (Scott was on his way to St. Paul Island, but unfortunately the plane wasn't able to land, and it ended up getting scheduled for another time!) 4/28/24

Ruby did volleyball again through Farmington city, and she loved it! She was on a team with her two besties, and the mom of one of them was her coach! They had a pretty good season, and I loved cheering her on! Go Ruby! 🏐

Ruby wanted to play volleyball again through the city this year. This season was extra fun because she was on her best friend's team, and her friend's mom was the coach! Their team was pretty good, and Ruby definitely improved her skills from last year. Great job Ruby! 🏐

Scott held a BBQ party for his co-workers in our backyard, and it was a great time! (We really have tried to make the most of our new patio!) We had yummy burgers on the grill, and we also set up a four square type volleyball game. It was fun to meet more of the people he works with, and the girls were the best helpers! Robyn even dressed up in her waitress costume and helped take orders! Happy summer!

We had so much fun on our trip to California the week between Christmas and New Years. We surprised the girls on Christmas Day, and then drove down the day after Christmas. We ran into some construction traffic and traffic outside of Vegas that really slowed our drive down, but we eventually made it! We had some rainy weather off and on while we were there, but overall we had pretty good weather for the days we were in O'side. The days we were at Disney were a completely different story, haha. (Rainy posts to come, lol.) 

The girls loved the beach! They loved playing in the sand and wading in the waves. Our Alaska grown girls were the only ones swimming without wetsuits, haha! While in Oceanside we also enjoyed shopping and eating lots of yummy Mexican food. It had been so long since we had all been to Cali together and we had so much fun! Thanks so much to my parents for letting us stay in the condo!

Ruby decided to pick up a new sport this fall: Volleyball! Farmington City held a youth volleyball league at the new recreation center by Station Park and Ruby had so much fun participating! She was with other 3rd/4th graders and attended a clinic for a few weeks, and then had weekly games and practices until December. She learned a lot and wants to do it again next year! Scott may even be the coach next year too, haha!
