At the end of July Scott got to go dipnetting several times with some of his coworkers. They went to Fish Creek (just down the road from us) and the were very successful! They got a ton of salmon and our freezer is full of delicious reds and silvers. We've already enjoyed several yummy salmon dinners. Thanks Scott!

Scott got the chance to go dipnetting a couple weeks ago with some of his co-workers. He had such a blast I wanted to post about it on here, haha. They opened up Fish Creek to subsistence fishing this year (just a little ways past the church on KGB) and for three nights in a row Scott and his co-workers went out after work from about 6 pm to 11 pm in a little inflatable raft each with their huge 5 foot nets, hoping to catch some salmon. We missed him at home, but I'm so glad he was able to have this experience, and that he had so much fun!
The first two nights were pretty slow, only catching one fish each night, but the last night they collectively caught 17! (About half sockeye and half coho.) We had some yummy salmon dinners a couple times that week, and we also have some salmon in our freezer for this winter. Yum! And our girls even like to eat it, yay!
