Our Life in Alaska and Beyond

Early May we always start to get a little bit of Spring Fever and we just can't wait for summer and warmer weather and GREEN to arrive! 💚 On Star Wars day (May the Fourth Be With You, lol) we decided to hike the Butte. It was one of the windiest times we've ever done it, but we still had fun, all in our Star Wars shirts, lol. Enjoy these cute pics! 💫

We had the best Star Wars Party with family! Technically Star Wars Day is May 4th (May the Fourth Be With You), however, it worked better with everyone's schedules to celebrate a few days later. We had Chrissy and Sam's family over. Everyone helped by bringing some amazing food and we played some Star Wars games. So much fun! 🌟

While in Cali we drove up to Anaheim and spent two days at Disney. Our first day we spent at Disneyland! It has been several years since we've been to Disneyland so this was so fun! We left super early and were there for "rope drop." We had maybe two hours of beautiful sun, and then it literally didn't stop raining for the next 48 hours. We were all completely soaked, wet socks, shoes, hair, everything! It made it more difficult to enjoy, but the girls were such troopers! They were so good despite the super rainy circumstances. These cool pumpkins are on display in the neighborhood, just down the street from us! It was so fun to see them! This was the Harry Potter section.

Ruby is in 3rd grade! I can't believe how fast she's growing up! Starting school has been a little different this fall with covid, but luckily they've been able to start on time and so far have not had any positive cases at their school. She goes everyday (M-F), but will switch to distance learning if needs be. Both Ruby and Noelle love going to school and being in the classroom with their friends and teachers so we're glad they've been able to. Ruby does wear a mask most of the day (3rd grade and up a mask is required), but it hasn't been a big deal, and she likes coordinating it as part of her outfit. 😊So far Ruby is enjoying learning how to write in cursive, still loves math (building more on her multiplication facts), and is a very good reader and writer. She doesn't have all her friends in her class, but has some and she gets to see all of them at recess. (Recess is with her grade level, but otherwise she's always with her home room.) She has Mrs. Wanser and she's been great! Best of luck this year Ruby!
