Baldy, 6/14/20
Wednesday, June 17, 2020
Last Sunday we had a special broadcasted stake conference. It was a very nice meeting, (Normal church services still have not resumed, but I'm sure they will soon. I've been back to work for over a month now and Scott just went back full time this week.) and afterwards we decided to hike up Baldy. It was our first time doing this hike, and it was beautiful! It's a pretty popular trail in Eagle River, with gorgeous views the whole way up. We had beautiful, clear, sunny weather and we could even see Denali peeking through the clouds for a bit. (Denali is over 100 miles away!) Enjoy these pics!

Denali, 3/29/20
Sunday, April 19, 2020
A few Sundays ago it was nice and clear and sunny so we decided to take a drive to Willow to see Denali. (Denali is the highest mountain in North America at 20,310 feet!) It was a perfect day to see the mountain and it was nice to get out of the house for a bit, even though it was a little chilly. The sun is sure making a difference though. The snow is almost all the way melted here, and we can't wait for summer!
Denali National Park, Day 2, 9/13/19
Sunday, September 22, 2019
Driving the Denali Park Road was such an amazing experience! We've been so lucky that we have been able to drive it twice! (See our 2018 trip here.) Again this year I decided to rent a super telephoto lens, which was so fun. I think we may have had a little better luck with seeing more animals closer last year, but it was still really good this year too. We were able to see most of the mountain (just the very tip of the summit was cloud covered) on Friday, and then we saw it just for a bit during the drive home on Saturday, too. (Denali is 20,310 feet and the highest mountain in North America! It likes to hide behind clouds a lot of the time though, haha.)
On Friday we ended up driving all the way to the end of the road (92 miles!), and then that evening we were able to spend another night in our hotel, which was nice. For all the time spent in the car, the girls did pretty good! It got a little long for Noelle and Robyn, but it was still fun and I'm so glad we got to have this experience. Enjoy these pics of beautiful Denali National Park!

| We got lucky enough to see nine grizzly bears while driving through the park! This mama and her two (big) cubs were the first ones we saw and they were so fun to watch! The cubs were so playful! |
Denali National Park, Day 1, 9/12/19
We got into the road lottery on Friday, September 13th, so the day before being able to actually drive the road we drove up to Denali National Park, checked out the visitor center, got our pass, and just kind of explored around the hotel we were staying at. It was a fun evening, and the weather was really nice!

4th of July, 7/4/19
Monday, July 8, 2019
For the 4th this year we decided to go with our usual tradition and head up to Willow. They didn't have the running races this year 😔 but we were still able to go to the parade (short and sweet), and then we drove the road from Willow to Hatcher's. It was so pretty and so hot, haha. Enjoy these cute pics of our red, white, and blue!

Denali National Park, 9/17-18/18
Wednesday, September 26, 2018
We were lucky enough to get into the Denali Road Lottery this year! Yay! We actually didn't get drawn, but Scott's co-worker did and he couldn't go, so we got to go instead! :) Grandma and Grandpa Burton decided to make a trip of it, and they came up and enjoyed Denali with us. It was a lot of time in the car for the girls, but overall they did great! It was definitely worth it, and we'll for sure be entering again next year!
We drove to Denali on Monday and stayed in a nice lodge that night, and then on Tuesday we actually drove into the park. We drove to the Eileson Visitor Center (mile 66) before turning around heading back. We then drove all the way home that night. If we get to go again I'd definitely stay two nights and try to drive all the way to the end (92 miles.) We saw plenty of wildlife, all in the prettiest of fall colors. I also rented a super telephoto lens for my camera, which was so fun to get a little closer to the animals. The only unfortunate part about this trip was that Denali was completely cloud covered the entire time we were there. We couldn't see the mountain at all, but we still had a great time!

| The Grizzly bears were easily a favorite. We saw four while driving through the park. :) |
Talkeetna, 2/16/16
Tuesday, February 23, 2016
I've never been to Talkeetna in the 3 1/2 years that we've lived here, so while my mom, dad, and Chrissy were here we decided to go for a little road trip up to Talkeetna for the day. It was definitely slow season for them, but it was a beautiful sunny day and we got a really clear view of Denali! Talkeetna is such a cute town and it was fun to walk around. They have a lot more snow than us, haha. :) Sorry Scott had to work!
It was so fun to have family visit. Time went by way too fast, but hopefully we'll get to see everyone again soon!
