Yellowstone National Park, 5/28-31/21
Thursday, July 29, 2021
We spent Memorial Day weekend in Yellowstone National Park! Grandma and Grandpa Burton and Aunt Chrissy also came with our little family, and it was such a fun trip! Yellowstone itself was super crowded, but we still had a great time!
Pretty soon after Scott accepted the job at the U, we started to get excited to visit national parks near Utah, and we booked this trip to Yellowstone. We stayed in a cute cabin near West Yellowstone, and it was so fun! Yellowstone was so beautiful, and we got to see a lot of wildlife too! The whole trip went by too fast, and we definitely want to plan another visit!

Eagle River North Fork, 5/27/19
Sunday, June 2, 2019
Last Monday was Memorial Day and because Scott had the day off we decided to do a hike we've never done before. We drove up towards Eagle River Nature Center, but stopped at the North Fork hike just before. It was a pretty short little hike (about 1/2 mile each way) and perfect for kids! It was a little cloudy and kind of cold, but not too bad since we all had jackets. After the hike we also stopped at a fun playground in Eagle River before heading home. It was a fun day. 😊
Sunday Best, 5/27/18
Saturday, June 2, 2018
We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with beautiful weather. It was so nice! We had a little bit of rain, but mostly a lot of sunshine! We didn't get any Sunday dress pics on Easter (General Conference, and Scott and I left for DC the next day) or on Mother's Day (we were taking Scott to the airport to go to St. Paul) so Scott let me snap a few quick pics last Sunday. Everyone looked so cute, and the weather was perfect! Enjoy!

Barbara Falls, 5/27/17
We had a nice long Memorial Day weekend! I had Saturday off so we decided to go hiking to Barbara Falls, and then we picked up some flowers for our yard at a greenhouse in Eagle River. (Next blog post.) It was a little chilly on the hike, but not too bad, and it wasn't raining! We've had a lot of rain this past week. The falls were beautiful, as always, and we went a different way, along the river, which led us to the bottom of the falls, rather than the top viewing area. It was kind of fun to get a different perspective of the falls. We invited our friends, the Laytons, to go on this hike with us, so that was fun to be with them too. Overall we had a great day!

We had so much fun in Cali! Get ready for an overload of blog posts! We loved spending time with family, and we had beautiful weather. We all kind of got sick with a cold, but it wasn't too bad. We still had tons of fun! First up, Memorial Day: We spent it on the beach. Enjoy the pics!

Butte Hike (Summer Edition), 5/25/15
Tuesday, May 26, 2015
Our Memorial Day weekend fun continued and on Monday we hiked the Butte in the morning. It was a beautiful day! Ruby hiked up and down on her own with Scott only carrying her a few times. (Our first time not taking the backpack carrier.) She's getting so big! I carried Noelle in the ring sling where she stayed nice and snug. We finished the day off with a BBQ with our friends. We missed being in Utah with our families and going to the Herriman cemetery with the Hadley side, but we're making the most of our time here in Alaska and truly are enjoying this adventure. :)

| It's amazing how much greener everything has gotten in just a month since we last hiked the Butte. |
Reflections Lake, 5/23/15
Last Saturday I had the day off (for Memorial Day weekend) so we made the most of it and had a full weekend of fun activities. For the most part we had great weather with temps in the 60's and a few light rain showers. Saturday we went to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, but I didn't get any pics because it was pretty windy and slightly chilly down in Girdwood. Scott and I took turns staying in the car with Noelle and then getting out with Ruby to see the animals. Ruby loved the moose and kept calling one of the huge bull moose there a, "cute, tiny, baby moose." Haha. :) She came home with a cute stuffed animal moose.
On our drive back home from the AWCC we decided to stop at Reflections Lake. It was our first time there and we loved it! There is a trail to walk all the way around the lake which was great for Ruby! There's also a fun lookout to climb up and view the surrounding hay flats and beautiful Matanuska mountains. All these pics are from Reflections Lake. I'm sure we'll going back again soon.
