Birthday Sushi, 11/21/23

Wednesday, April 9, 2025

Scott was able to come to Utah for Thanksgiving, and with my birthday being so close, he was able to come for that, too! Yay! Andy and Ali were also visiting at this time for Thanksgiving, and for mine and Chrissy's birthday (Jake couldn't make it) we all went to Fat Fish for sushi! It was so good! We got so many rolls, and looking at these pics it's almost comical, but we ate them all! Yum! Happy 37th!

Look close to see our cute birthday headbands 🥳

Jazz Game, 3/14/22

Tuesday, September 27, 2022

A few days after going to a Jazz game with Chrissy I got to go to another one! This was a bigger game, against the Bucks, and we made it more of a big deal and went out for sushi before. We ate at Fat Fish and it was so good! The game was also really good, but unfortunately the Jazz lost 111-117. Still such a fun night, though. Go Jazz!

We got to meet LEGO Donovan! This really was pretty cool!

Jazz Game, 12/17/21

Thursday, April 21, 2022

My work got Jazz tickets so Scott and I decided to make a date out of it. It was the day before our 11th anniversary so we made this our anniversary date. We went out to eat before (delicious sushi from Fat Fish 😋), and then went to the game. The Jazz played the Spurs and unfortunately lost by two, but it was still a super fun night! The tickets were in the upper bowl, but they weren't too bad. I loved spending time with Scott and celebrating 11 years of being married! Happy Anniversary! Love you Scott! 😘

Jazz Game, 11/16/21

Tuesday, March 8, 2022
My birthday this year included a lot of Utah Jazz and family time, and it was great! A few days before our birthday Chrissy was given some tickets to a Jazz game by a friend who knew one of the 76ers assistant coaches, and she invited me to go with her. We were super close, just a few rows behind the sixers bench, and it was so fun! We went out to eat at Sapa for sushi before, and it was so good! And the Jazz won this game by a pretty big margin, so it was a great night! Fun start to our birthday week!

Washington DC - US Capitol/US Botanic Garden, 4/7/18

Thursday, April 26, 2018
After visiting The Blind Whino on Saturday, Robyn and I met Scott at the US Capitol and the US Botanic Garden. It was actually pretty chilly this day, and it even started snowing while we were walking around the Capitol Building. It really is a beautiful building! Earlier in the week (4/5/18), Robyn and I got to take a tour of the inside of the building, which was pretty cool. So the pics of the inside of the capitol are from Thursday. I enjoyed the tour (I didn't realize how big and grand and ornate and old the US Capitol is!), but I'm just not super into politics and government and stuff like that, haha. The Capitol Building was originally completed in 1800, but it has since had many expansions and revisions. Enjoy the pics!

Can't ever get enough blossoms!

The Statue of Freedom stands atop the dome of the Capitol Building. She faces East to the rising sun, so "the sun never sets on freedom." I learned that on the tour, not sure if it's a direct quote ?
I learned the right side in this pic (South side) houses the State Representatives, and the left side houses the Senate.

Looking up the dome (L) and the Baptism of Pochahontas, by John Gadsby Chapman, 1839 (R), one of 8 paintings in the Capitol Rotunda (below the dome).

Portrait Monument to Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony, by Adelaide Johnson, 1920, (L). Possibly unfinished because women's rights are unfinished. And the National Statuary Hall (R). Apparently his desk was here because the acoustics allowed him to overhear others. The other desk locations were also marked. Our tour guide demonstrated, and it worked, kind of, haha.

One of the statues representing Utah, (L), and a memorial to United Airlines flight 93 from 9/11, possibly saving the US Capitol (R).

Inside the greenhouse of the US Botanic Garden. It was so nice to warm up in here! On the (L) we're in front of a cacao tree!

That evening for dinner we had some delicious sushi! Robby spilled some miso soup on me, haha (R). It was a chilly walk home.

Miso soup pants, lol.
