Ruby's Surgery, 12/15/22
Ruby has always had big tonsils. (Not quite as big as her sisters' were, but still pretty big.) Because her sisters did so good, and had much better sleep and no more mouth breathing or snoring after their surgeries, we decided to go ahead and get Ruby's out too. She had a small consultation in Alaska, where the doctor said she qualified for surgery; and then we set up a consultation for her here, too, and same story. (Ruby's tonsils were grade 3, where Robyn, and especially Noelle were closer to grade 4.)
We originally had the surgery scheduled for right before Thanksgiving, but the doctor had to change it to December, which also changed the location to the University Hospital in SLC, rather than the much closer surgery center in Farmington. It wasn't too big of a deal, but of course, we happened to have a huge snow storm the night/morning before, and she had to be there at 6 am! (The snow this season really was so crazy!) Scott took her in the morning, then I came up shortly after, and Scott went to work, then I brought her home after the surgery. All went well, and by the time we came home the roads were all clear. (Getting there was pretty scary for both Scott and me.) (Also huge thanks to Grandma and Grandpa B. for your help watching the younger two. It ended up being late start due to the snow, so Noelle started school two hours later, and Robyn didn't have kindergarten at all. (We had several late start school days over the winter!))
Robyn's Surgery, 3/19/21
I have gotten so far behind on my blogging, but I'm going to try to get all caught up. I have so much I want to share. We have moved to Utah and are loving it, but it's been super busy! I have a couple posts left from our last few days in AK, and then the rest are all Utah!
First up, right before moving we decided to have Robyn get her tonsils removed. She had already had the referral appointment to the ENT a few months back and we figured while we had great benefits and had already met the doctor and everything (the same doctor also took out Noelle's tonsils) why not just get it done. She had similar issues as Noelle with mouth breathing and snoring at night. We're glad we went through with the surgery and everything went really well, but it definitely made for some very busy days just before moving. Scott was already in Utah when Robyn had her surgery, but luckily my parents were with us (helping with all the final packing) so they were able to help get the older girls to school and stuff while I was with Robby at the hospital.
She was such a little angel and all went well with the surgery. As they were wheeling her back to me after the surgery one of the nurses said, "I've got a little doll here." She was such a little sweetheart and did pretty good with the recovery too. Good job Robbs! 😊
