Blueberry Picking, 8/5/20

One of the last things we did before school started was pick blueberries up Hatcher Pass! I think we were a bit early, but we still found quite a few and had a fun time. I forgot my big camera, but I still wanted to post some cell phone pics on here. Hatcher Pass is so beautiful!

We decided to celebrate Robyn's 3rd birthday a little bit early while Grandma and Grandpa were here. We made a big blueberry cake (on the cover of my favorite cake book) and let her open a few presents. She still loves blueberries (she had a different kind of blueberry cake last year) and loved celebrating. The next day we left on a big RV trip with Grandma and Grandpa for the week and she kept asking about her cake and saying that she wanted some, haha! There were a few leftovers and we made sure she got some when we got back, lol! We sure love our sweet Robby! 💖

I've been looking forward to taking fall family pictures up Hatcher Pass all year! We went last year in the fall to pick some blueberries and it was just so beautiful (see post here) so I knew I wanted to take our family Christmas card photo pics here this year. We used the tripod for the family pics, and they turned out pretty good! I just love fall in Alaska! The girls were really good, and they enjoyed snacking on blueberries in between shots. Enjoy these pretty pics!

We celebrated Robyn's birthday with her cake about a week early, while Grandma Kay was still here with us. Robyn loves blueberries, so I thought a blueberry cake would be fun. It turned out so cute, and it was delicious too. It was a banana blueberry cake, with cream cheese frosting, and extra blueberries on top. Yum! Enjoy these cute pics!

Grandma and Grandpa B. stayed with us for a few more days after we got back from Denali National Park. Right after Ruby got out of school on Wednesday we decided to drive up to Hatcher Pass to pick some blueberries. Noelle fell asleep in the car and Ruby threw a little fit, being so tired from a long day at school, so only Grandma, Grandpa, Robyn, and I looked for blueberries, but it was still fun. Although it was towards the end of the season, we still found a few! And it was absolutely gorgeous as always! Hatcher Pass is our favorite!

I also wanted to include this pic in this post! The Sunday that Grandma and Grandpa were here was Ruby's Primary Program! She did a great job and it was so fun for Grandma and Grandpa to be here for it!

Blueberry Picking, 9/9/18

It's definitely a season of harvest as three of my last four posts now have been about us picking the bounties of the earth. :) Last Sunday after church we went up to Hatcher Pass (it's soooo pretty in the fall!) and picked blueberries. We've never picked blueberries up there before, (I think we thought it would be too hard to find them?) but it ended up being one of our favorite things we've done here in Alaska! We'll definitely be going again! We first stopped at Summit Lake and explored around a bit, and then drove towards Willow until we saw people picking berries, and stopped there. The blueberries were everywhere, and we all had so much fun picking (and eating) them! The weather was absolutely perfect (and the light for taking pics was too!) We couldn't have asked for a better day. Enjoy these beautiful pics!
