Our Life in Alaska and Beyond

Scott had a work conference in Portland, and I was able to join him! After being apart for so long, it was so good to be together! We loved being with each other! During the day, while Scott was at his conference, I got out and explored all over Portland using the TriMet, we'd usually meet up for lunch, and then we'd do something fun in the evening too. Such a fun trip together! While visiting Portland we couldn't help but notice so many unhoused people, which was so sad, and I know there aren't any easy solutions, but we still had a great time in a beautiful city! 

These first few photos were taken at the Lan Su Chinese Garden. It was so beautiful! There was a chrysanthemum festival going on, and I loved all the flowers! 11/14/23

Chrissy invited me to go to another Jazz game in early December. The Jazz played the Trail Blazers and unfortunately lost, but we still had fun! We met Jake and Chase at the game, and I love the pic we got with the Christmas lights outside the Vivint Arena. So fun and festive. Go Jazz! 🏀

It's always so fun going to Utah Jazz games! Chrissy invited me to go with her to the season opener, where we also met up with Jake and Deron. This was kind of a big game to see what the new team was like after losing some big players and the coach. It actually ended up being a great game! The Jazz played the Nuggets and won! It was a great time!

Chrissy invited me to go to a Jazz game in early April against the Thunder. Jazz had a blowout win and it was so fun! Blossoms were blooming all over outside the arena and it was so pretty! Go Jazz! 

(Little did we know this was the last time I would see this current Jazz team and now it's completely different! 😭 Not super looking forward to this coming season, but that's ok. I'm still a fan, haha.)

A few days after going to a Jazz game with Chrissy I got to go to another one! This was a bigger game, against the Bucks, and we made it more of a big deal and went out for sushi before. We ate at Fat Fish and it was so good! The game was also really good, but unfortunately the Jazz lost 111-117. Still such a fun night, though. Go Jazz!

We got to meet LEGO Donovan! This really was pretty cool!

Towards the end of the Jazz season I got to go with Chrissy to several Jazz games. They were all so fun! Thanks Chrissy! This game they played the Trail Blazers and it was a blowout win. Go Jazz!

The Jazz have played a few times on Christmas Day and this year I was able to go! It was so fun! Chrissy shares season tickets with Jake and invited me to go with! It was a late night game against the Maveriks, and the Jazz won! Wahoo! It was so fun to see all the extra stuff they do for Christmas. Enjoy these fun pics!

I love how they turned the note into an ornament! The Jazz Bear Elf cutout is cute too, haha.

My work got Jazz tickets so Scott and I decided to make a date out of it. It was the day before our 11th anniversary so we made this our anniversary date. We went out to eat before (delicious sushi from Fat Fish 😋), and then went to the game. The Jazz played the Spurs and unfortunately lost by two, but it was still a super fun night! The tickets were in the upper bowl, but they weren't too bad. I loved spending time with Scott and celebrating 11 years of being married! Happy Anniversary! Love you Scott! 😘

My birthday fell on a Sunday this year and we just took it easy and relaxed, haha. Scott and the girls made me a delicious waffle breakfast with fresh raspberries and whip cream. For dinner we went to my parents and celebrated with family. It was so fun!

The next day we had a big group go to the Jazz game! My parents helped out watching all the little kids while we went out, which was so nice! We ate at Crown Burger before and then walked over to the game. Unfortunately the Jazz lost by 1 to the Grizzlies, but we still had a great time with family!

One thing that Scott and I have been really excited about since moving back is going to more Utah Jazz games! We watched almost every game on League Pass in Alaska so we're huge fans, haha! The Jazz ended up having the best record in the league this last year, but unfortunately had sort of an early playoff exit (again 😫) so hopefully they'll do better this year. I'm sure we'll try and go to a few games. 😊

A few days after we arrived in Utah it was Easter! We pretty much immediately starting having big get togethers and parties with both sides of our families after moving, which we missed so much while we were in Alaska. However, it has been a bit overwhelming at times as we transition from our quieter life in AK to a much busier one, but we're doing it, and it's going well! 

On Easter Sunday we got together with the Burton fam at my parents' and it was so fun! We had beautiful weather, a delicious dinner, and an egg hunt for the kids. The girls love playing with and being with all their cousins on both sides. Enjoy these fun pics!
