Grinnell Lake, 7/24/22
From Many Glacier we took a boat tour across Swiftcurrent Lake, walked a short distance, and then took another boat across Lake Josephine. They were both quick little rides, and we loved it! From there we hiked to Grinnell Lake, enjoyed some time there for a bit, and then hiked back to Lake Josephine and took the two boat tours back to Many Glacier. You can hike from Many Glacier to Grinnell Lake, but the boats take off about five miles. (We were glad we made this reservation ahead of time because they were all completely booked!)
While waiting for our boat ride to go back across Lake Josephine, a mama moose and her two babies came through and walked right into the water. It was so amazing! It was so cool to see the mama moose going under and eating water plants and her babies close behind, following what she did. This was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Many Glacier, 7/24/22
We continued on our huge day by going to Many Glacier. They actually weren't accepting any more cars into the Many Glacier entrance, but we told them we had a boat reservation so they let us through. (You definitely have to plan ahead when visiting this park!) There were several parking spots available so it was all good! We had an hour or two before our boat ride, so we just explored the lodge (Many Glacier Hotel) and then let the girls wade in the water. (I'll do the boat ride/hike pics in a separate post.)
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. The weather was perfect and the scenery was amazing! Scott said this was his favorite area in the park. We would have loved to spend a night at the lodge here, but you have to make a reservation way in advance. We'll try to stay here next time! Enjoy!
