Portland, 11/13-16/23
Scott had a work conference in Portland, and I was able to join him! After being apart for so long, it was so good to be together! We loved being with each other! During the day, while Scott was at his conference, I got out and explored all over Portland using the TriMet, we'd usually meet up for lunch, and then we'd do something fun in the evening too. Such a fun trip together! While visiting Portland we couldn't help but notice so many unhoused people, which was so sad, and I know there aren't any easy solutions, but we still had a great time in a beautiful city!
| These first few photos were taken at the Lan Su Chinese Garden. It was so beautiful! There was a chrysanthemum festival going on, and I loved all the flowers! 11/14/23 |

Indian Trail, 10/14/23
Chrissy and I tried to get all the fall hiking in, lol! Our next hike we did was in Ogden. We originally did this hike in our Hiking 101 class at WSU, and it's one of our favorites! It's especially pretty in the fall. You usually do it as a one way hike, leaving a car at the finish, and one at the trailhead. We started up Ogden Canyon, at the Coldwater Canyon trailhead, and then finished at the 22nd Street trailhead. It's a little over 4 miles and about 1400 elevation gain. So pretty! 🍁😍🍂
Red Pine Lake, 10/11/23
Chrissy invited me to go hiking with her to Red Pine Lake. It is one of her favorites, and this was my first time hiking it. It was so beautiful! It's kind of a longer one (nearly 8 miles and 2k feet elevation), and it was a little rainy/snowy, and we had some cloud coverage blocking part of the views, but it was still so pretty, and I'm glad we were able to hike it! Thanks Chrissy! 🍁❄️
Flag Rock, 10/10/23
I loved living in Farmington and being so close to the Flag Rock trail! From my work I noticed the leaves were really starting to pop on the north side, and I couldn't wait to get out there and run it. Enjoy these pretty pics! 🍁🍂
Oct. '23 Trail Runs
Sept. '23 Trail Running
I love Utah in September! It's still really warm, but just starting to cool down a bit. (October in UT is so nice too.) While Scott was gone I was working 2-3x/week, but with the kids back in school, I was able to go on lots of runs and hikes. Enjoy these pretty pics I took while out enjoying nature! 🍃🌻🍁

Snowbasin Fall Hike, 10/3/21
On a beautiful sunny Sunday we decided to go hiking with Chrissy up at Snowbasin. We hiked the Green Pond trail, and then we also went up to the resort and walked around there for a bit. All the fall colors were so beautiful and the girls were the best little hikers!
Davis Creek Trail, 9/26/21
We had such a pretty fall this year and tried to get out as much as we could to enjoy the all the beautiful colors! One Sunday afternoon we decided to hike up Davis Creek trail with the girls, up to the waterfall bench. (Love how close it is to us!) The colors were just starting to change up in the mountains, and the weather was still pretty warm. It was such a beautiful day! Enjoy!
Hatcher Pass, 9/20/20
We loved having Steph and Alex stay with us! After getting off work on Saturday I finally met up with everyone at our house, haha, and we all had a yummy dinner of salmon tacos! Later that night after putting the girls to bed, all the adults stayed up and we played some games. It was so fun!
On Sunday morning we had a big yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs and then we drove up Hatcher Pass. We were planning on doing a longer hike, but it was pretty foggy and overcast, so we decided to just explore around Independence Mine. We hadn't done that for a few years, so it was fun to check out again! It's very similar to Kennecott Mine, where we were a few weeks ago, not quite as big though. Afterwards we also drove over to Summit Lake and explored around there too. The views weren't quite as impressive with all the clouds moving in, but it was still so pretty! Enjoy these beautiful foggy fall pics!

Scout Ridge Trail, 9/13/20
We've had such pretty colors this fall, and we've tried our best to get out and enjoy it as much as we can! A few Sundays ago we decided to hike Scout Ridge trail. It was so pretty and we decided fall is our favorite time of year to hike it because of all the beautiful colors (and no mosquitoes!)
McCarthy Road back Home, 9/7/20
On Monday (Labor Day) we took the long drive back home. It was a little rainy and overcast, so we were glad that we had had full sunshine our previous days in Wrangell-St. Elias NP. The 60 mile dirt road again took about two hours, but it was so pretty with all the fall colors. We had such a fun trip and love all the time spent with our cute little family. 💗

Root Glacier, 9/6/20
Sunday morning we got up and went off to explore the park. We first drove to the end of the road and walked across the foot bridge, and then from there we took a five mile shuttle ride to Kennecott Mine. We first hiked to Root Glacier, and then explored the mine a bit more on the way back. (I'll do a separate post for the mine.) On the hike we were able to walk on the glacier, which was really cool! The girls were the best little hikers too! And the weather was beautiful and sunny! It was a little cold first thing in the morning, but it warmed up later in the day. The whole hike was about five miles and the girls did great!

Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, 9/5/20
When we did our big RV trip with my parents last summer we just went to the edge of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, but didn't have time to really go IN to the park. We decided to make a weekend trip of it and spent Labor Day weekend in Wrangell-St. Elias NP! It is a beautiful park, and so BIG!!! (WRST is 5x as big as Yellowstone!) We spent three days here, but really only saw a small part of the park. There are two dirt roads to drive into the park (otherwise you take an airplane or boat, haha!) We took the McCarthy Road to Kennecott, and it was so fun! I took a ton of pictures so I'll split it up into several blog posts.
Our first stop was at the visitor center near Copper Center. (Where we stopped with my parents.) We also stopped at Liberty Falls, and then at the Ranger Station in Chitina. The fall colors were just starting to show, and it was so pretty! We also lucked out with perfect sunny weather the entire time! Enjoy! 🍁🍂

Apple Picking, 8/22/19
The first day with Grandma and Grandpa we went apple picking at our favorite orchard in the Big Lake area. Scott was at work, and Ruby was at school, but we had fun with just Noelle and Robyn. The orchard is so beautiful and the apples were delicious! Enjoy these fun pics!
