Hogle Zoo, 4/18/22
We made it to the Hogle Zoo one more time before our pass expired. It was a beautiful day, and it was amazing how much greener and how many more blooms were out compared to when we were there just a few weeks before. We loved seeing all the animals, and all the pretty flowers too. Enjoy!

Easter, 4/17/22
Happy Easter! I always love Easter with all the new growth and pretty blossoms after a long and cold winter. The girls got new Easter dresses, and it was such a beautiful, sunshiny day! My parents were out of town, but the day before Easter we got together with the Hadley side and had an Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's. It was a very fun day. 🐰🐣
Wheeler Farm 5k, 4/9/22
We finished off our fun Spring Break week by running a race! Scott's work hosted a 5k at Wheeler Farm and our whole family ran it! Ruby did the whole thing while I stayed with her, and Scott stayed with Noelle and Robyn. They didn't quite make it the whole 5k, but did pretty good. It started kind of early and was still a bit chilly, but we had fun. Many trees were blossoming, and it was so pretty! We're hoping our girls will continue to love running!

| These tulips on Georgetown U's campus weren't yet blooming just a few days before. Spring flowers are so fleeting, yet so beautiful! |

Washington DC - Cherry Blossoms at Sunrise, 4/5/18
Thursday morning was forecast to be clear and sunny so I decided to get up extra early and go to Tidal Basin to be there at sunrise. Luckily it worked out for Scott to stay with Robyn, and then I was back in time before his conference started. It was a little chilly (probably mid thirties) while I was out so I was glad it was just me and I didn't have to worry about Robyn being too cold. The cherry blossoms did not disappoint, and it was sooo worth getting up early for. Later on that day the National Park Service determined the cherry blossoms reached "peak bloom" (where 70% of the Yoshino cherry blossoms are out) that day! What perfect luck! This was probably what I was most looking forward to and my favorite part of the trip - seeing the cherry blossoms and taking pictures of them. I absolutely loved it! Enjoy these pics!

| These cherry trees actually have quite a history (see more here), but in short 3,020 trees were given to Washington DC from Japan as a gift of friendship in 1912. I applaud the vision and determination of Eliza Scidmore in bringing them to DC. They're absolutely beautiful! |
