Easter, 4/9/23

Sunday, July 14, 2024

Easter was at the end of Spring Break, and luckily by the end of the week it had stopped snowing and we enjoyed some beautiful sunshine! Scott and I took the girls to church and we had a wonderful day with family. The day before (Saturday) we went to an egg hunt at Grandpa J.'s assisted living, and unfortunately Robyn got sick. The kids had finished egg hunting and we were just sitting on the couch, and then Robyn threw up all over. 🤮 It was quite the mess (a lot was on me, but a lot was also on the couch and floor, lol), but we got everything cleaned up and then I stayed home with Robyn for the rest of the day. Scott's family was having a get together so he took the older two and they had a great time. Even with the little bout of Robyn's sickness, we still had a very happy Easter! 🐰🐥

Easter Eggs, 4/3/23

Wednesday, May 29, 2024

The girls had a whole week off school for spring break, and we ended up getting so much snow it felt like we were back in AK, haha!  We still had a lot of fun though! One of the first things we did during the break was one of our favorite spring break activities: dyeing Easter eggs! We got some really bright colors with this kit and had a lot of fun! Enjoy these colorful pics! 🌈

Easter, 4/17/22

Monday, January 30, 2023

Happy Easter! I always love Easter with all the new growth and pretty blossoms after a long and cold winter. The girls got new Easter dresses, and it was such a beautiful, sunshiny day! My parents were out of town, but the day before Easter we got together with the Hadley side and had an Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's. It was a very fun day. 🐰🐣

Easter Eggs, 4/5/22

Wednesday, September 28, 2022

Over Spring Break we dyed Easter eggs. It was so fun and I always love the beautiful COLORS! In Alaska we would dye eggs over Spring Break (it especially brightened things up there) and we're sticking with tradition here too. We got this volcano dyeing kit, which was kinda fun for the girls. Enjoy these cute pics!

Easter, 4/4/21

Thursday, June 24, 2021

A few days after we arrived in Utah it was Easter! We pretty much immediately starting having big get togethers and parties with both sides of our families after moving, which we missed so much while we were in Alaska. However, it has been a bit overwhelming at times as we transition from our quieter life in AK to a much busier one, but we're doing it, and it's going well!

On Easter Sunday we got together with the Burton fam at my parents' and it was so fun! We had beautiful weather, a delicious dinner, and an egg hunt for the kids. The girls love playing with and being with all their cousins on both sides. Enjoy these fun pics!

Scott got me these flowers right after arriving in Utah, so I had to snap a few pics of them too. 💕

Easter Eggs, 3/13/21

Sunday, March 14, 2021

This past week the girls have had off for spring break! It's been so fun having them home, but also a bit tricky because we had several home showings where we needed the house clean and we had to be out. Luckily things are looking good and our home had multiple offers just a few days after being on the market. We accepted an offer and hopefully all will go smoothly as we continue to get ready to move to Utah!

Early Saturday morning we took Scott to the airport (He starts his new job tomorrow!), and then later on in the day we dyed Easter eggs. It was so much fun and we're so excited for spring and warmer weather! Enjoy these cute pics!

Easter, 4/12/20

Sunday, May 24, 2020
I've gotten a little behind on my blogging, but I will catch up! We've been home quarantined for the past month or two, and now things are just starting to open up again. Overall, things really weren't too different from our regular life here in Alaska. We normally don't go out (like shopping and restaurants) too much, and we just loved all the extra family time with Scott working from home and the girls having distance learning school from home. We're already physically distant from all our family in Utah, so FaceTime is pretty normal all the time. I'd say the biggest change we've had the past month is the weather. It's pretty much now full on summer with all the snow melted and GREEN 💚everywhere! We absolutely love summer in Alaska!

We've done so many fun things these past few weeks as it's been getting warmer, and I have so many pictures I want to post. First up, I'll start with Easter Sunday! It was a little bit of a different Easter this year, but still very special. With us not having church we've just been doing a little home church every week, with a short lesson and singing. We usually don't dress up, but we made sure to on Easter Sunday.  The girls wore new dresses from Grandma Burton (they love them!) and I snapped a few pics. It was still pretty cold and snowy/muddy outside so we stayed indoors, but they still turned out so cute! Love these girls so much! 💕

On Easter morning the girls woke up to Easter eggs all over downstairs and their Easter baskets were filled with fun toys (LEGOs, haha) and yummy candy. We had a nice cooked breakfast and then had our home church. We also FaceTimed our families. It was a wonderful day. Happy Easter!

Easter Eggs (Again), 4/6/20

Tuesday, April 21, 2020
With the all of us being home all the time now (all the extra family time really has been so nice) we decided to dye eggs again. The girls loved it so much, and we had already eaten all the ones we had already dyed, so why not? Scott got really into it this time making a cool Delicate Arch egg and a palm tree egg with tape. They all turned out so pretty! Enjoy!

Easter Eggs, 3/15/20

Thursday, March 26, 2020
For the past couple of years we've kind of had a tradition to dye eggs during Spring Break. It's usually still super snowy outside (like this year) so it's kind of fun to have a moment of spring inside. I let the girls pick out the kit from the store and they couldn't wait to use it! They picked a kit that made the eggs extra shiny, but it's kind of hard to tell in the photos. Enjoy these fun pics!

Easter, 4/21/19

Tuesday, May 7, 2019
Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love that we celebrate Christ and His Resurrection and His triumph over death in the springtime, just as the earth is awakening from a deep, long, and frozen winter. Easter and springtime go along perfectly with new birth and new life.

Spring in Alaska is definitely not quite as pretty as other places (we don't get blossoms until June-ish), but just getting all the sunlight and a little warmth back is so nice. We know that green and summer are near. 🌤🌷Happy Easter! How grateful I am to know that He Lives!

My sweet little bunnies 🐰

Easter Eggs, 3/17/19

Tuesday, April 2, 2019
I know it's a little early to be dyeing Easter eggs with Easter being later in April this year, but we just wanted to be doing something fun over Ruby's spring break. After church a few Sundays ago (also happened to be St. Patrick's Day, haha ☘) we decided to dye some eggs. Ruby and Noelle had so much fun and they turned out so beautiful!

~Flashback!~ Easter 2014, 4/20/14

Thursday, March 22, 2018
With Spring on its way and Easter coming up I thought it would be fun to look back at some old Easter photos, when Ruby was about 22 months old. These were all taken on my old Canon Rebel, just after I got it. I was very much still learning how to use it, but I'm so glad we have these photos! Ruby was so little! Enjoy!

Easter Eggs, 3/14/18

Monday, March 19, 2018
One of the fun activities we did during Ruby's spring break was dye Easter eggs! The girls (and Scott, as you'll see) had so much fun! We're getting so excited for Spring and warmer weather!

Thumbs up!

Easter, 4/16/17

Wednesday, April 19, 2017
We had a lovely Easter Sunday. It was so nice to be home, together as a family. Scott didn't have any church meetings (yay!!!) so we had a slow morning at home, then church in the afternoon. The girls got new Easter dresses and they were so excited to wear them! We took some pics after church, and most of the snow has melted! Yay! It's still a little chilly outside, but warming up fast, and we are so ready for summer!

Cute little bunnies :)

Easter 2016, 3/27/16

Tuesday, March 29, 2016
We were so lucky to have my parents here visiting for Easter! Unfortunately, they had a hard time getting here flying stand-by, so they were only here a few days before they had to leave, and time went by way too quick! We still had so much fun though! Scott was working on St. Paul island for part of the time which is really the reason they came, to help me out why Scott was traveling. It was so nice! (A separate blog post of Scott's St. Paul pics will be coming soon!)

These pics are of the girls from Easter Sunday before church. It's still pretty brown and not very pretty outside, but at least most of the snow has melted! Enjoy these beautiful girls!

Love that these girls are becoming such good friends and playing together more <3

Easter Eggs, 3/23/16

Wednesday, March 23, 2016
I can't believe it will already be Easter this Sunday! It's early this year! We got this cute circus egg dyeing and decorating kit at Target and Ruby couldn't wait to try it out! We dyed the eggs yesterday and then decorated them today. So much fun!

Easter 2015

Thursday, April 23, 2015
We got together with some of our neighbor friends for a little egg hunt two Saturdays before Easter. We had so much fun and even though it was a little chilly, there wasn't any snow on the ground! (We did wake up to a nice little blanket of snow right on Easter, haha.) Ruby had so much fun, hopefully we'll keep doing this in years to come.
Also, Aunt Chrissy got to come stay with us right over Easter. We had so much fun with her and Ruby quickly became, "Chrissy's girl." Thanks for taking the family pics of us Chrissy, and thanks for all your help with the little ones too!
